New surgery for Egan Bernal, but it is not as serious as a year ago when he was involved in a scary training accident.
This time the Colombian cyclist underwent surgery on his nose, for a correction to solve a problem that was complicating his breathing.
“Egan Bernal was suffering from an obstructive nasal pathology, as well as a deviation of the septum that made it difficult for air to pass between the nostrils, especially in moments of great physical exertion,” the doctors explained after the surgery. “The septorhinoplasty operation was therefore performed with the aim of eliminating this problem and allowing Bernal to recover the effective functionality of his first airways.
