Jannik Sinner, what compliments from Medvedev: “He will be at the top for a long time.”
He will not face him in the finals, but he has equally lavished words of high praise on him.
Jannik Sinner will not play in the final of the Indian Wells Masters 1000 tournament after losing in two sets, with a score of 7-6(4) 6-3. Despite this, however, finalist Daniil Medvedev also had words of high praise for him as well as his opponent Carlos Alcaraz.
In his press conference in preparation for the Indian Wells final, in fact, Medvedev decided to dwell on Sinner’s status as well. “Jannik is an extraordinary player,” the Russian noted. “Sometimes he even manages to approach the level of Alcaraz, and in their challenges we could see that.
“So far he has managed to win a title and a 500 final. Now he’s made it to the semifinals here in Indian Wells,” Medvedev continued about Sinner. “Maybe he still lacks the consistency to break into the top 10 of world tennis, but he’s playing at a very high level. And I think he is a player who will stay at the top for a long, long time.”
