Mercedes: the seat makes Lewis Hamilton mad.
Lewis Hamilton complained about the position of his seat in the single-seater
Lewis Hamilton during the press conference ahead of the Australian GP complained about the position of the seat in his Mercedes W14: “I don’t know if you know, but now we sit closer to the front wheels than all the other drivers, I think our cockpit is too close to the front,” are the words of the British driver.
“When I’m driving, I feel like I’m sitting on the front wheels and it’s one of the worst feelings when you drive a car. It really changes the attitude of the car and the role in which you perceive its movement. It’s harder to make predictions than when you’re sitting further back, in the middle.”
According to Hamilton, the seat position will have to be changed in the future: “100%, it is simply too far forward now. It could be a long time before we get back to competing with Red Bull.”
