Jannik Sinner flies to the round of 16 of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 thanks to Diego Schwartzman’s withdrawal. In fact, the Argentine tennis player raised the white flag at the score of 6-0 3-1 in favor of the Italian.

It was a one-sided match for Jannik, who snatched service to zero from his rival in the opening game. The South Tyrolean tennis player was centered and precise while the Argentine was unrecognizable and very foul. At 5-0 Schwartzman calls for the physiotherapist’s intervention for a left shoulder problem. Little changed because, having resumed play, Sinner closed the first partial with a score of 6-0. In the second set Schwartzman unlocks himself by winning the first game of his match but the joy is short-lived: in a moment Sinner goes ahead 3-1 and here the South American tennis player is forced to abandon the match.

Sinner thus flies to the round of 16 where he will face Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.
