Carlos Alcaraz qualifies for semifinals
Carlos Alcaraz has qualified for the semifinals of the Atp 500 in Barcelona.
The Murcian tennis player won over compatriot Davidovich Fokina 7-6 6-4 after a match that lasted two hours and twelve minutes.
The Spanish number one won the first set with difficulty only at tie-break after failing a set point and suffering a counter break at 5-4 in his favor. The second set was very hard fought with both tennis players managing to keep their turn at bat. Davidovich’s double fault at 5-4 was decisive, conceding two match points to Alcaraz, who was cynical and closed the score.
