MotoGp, the curse of Marc Marquez: also collapses Joan Mir
From Dani Pedrosa to Jorge Lorenzo, from Alex Marquez to Pol Espargarò: for one reason or another, Marc Marquez’s box-mates at Honda have always disappointed in MotoGp since 2013. And now for Joan Mir, too, the situation seems to be repeating itself: the former 2020 world champion Suzuki has racked up just five points since the start of the World Championship, seven fewer than Marquez, who has raced in just two weekends.
Particularly in France, the difference between the two riders has been merciless, with Marquez fighting for the podium and Joan Mir struggling in the rear before slipping again (there are already 12 crashes in 2023 for him).
Mir tried to explain his crisis this way, mainly due to problems adapting to the new bike: “It’s hard, I ride on the edge and every detail counts. Something like that destroys you mentally, because you always have to be very precise and not force the front end too much. Otherwise you fall off.”
