Treviso Basketball-Andrea Gracis, roads part: message from the club
Treviso Basket officially says goodbye to Andrea Gracis
Andrea Gracis is no longer the sporting director of Treviso Basket, which is increasingly close to hiring Simone Giofrè (from Happy Casa Brindisi) in the managerial role. The farewell to Gracis came through the club’s official channels on Tuesday.
“After nine unforgettable seasons together, the roads of Treviso Basket and Andrea Gracis part ways,” the note reads. “Andrea, a full-blooded Trevisan, who had worn the Treviso jersey with sponsor Liberti in his first year in Serie A and then again had returned as captain with the Benetton Basket jersey, has been the Sports Director of the newly formed Treviso Basket since the 2014/15 season, the first at Palaverde in A2 Silver, tracing the technical direction of the team with experience, sensitivity and great professionalism.
“They have been nine unforgettable seasons for the club, from the first years of consolidation in A2, to the memorable ride that in 2019 brought Treviso back to the great A1 basketball. From there, after the first year crushed by the pandemic, there followed the sixth place in the following season and the historic qualification for the Champions League, up to the two 10th and 11th place finishes in the last two seasons. Without excesses, with his measured style, never over the top, Andrea helped first create and then consolidate a respectable style and reputation for our club and our sporting environment.”
“The society, after nine years of road traveled together, has decided to move on, but the affection and esteem for Gracis will always be unchanged because Andrea is and will always remain ‘a TVB guy’!”
