Roma contacts Juventus for a midfielder
Roma working on a midfield swoop: according to reports in Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi have set their sights on Weston McKennie, who has returned to Juventus after a Premier League loan at Leeds.
The U.S. national player is not contemplated in the Turin club’s future plans and will be sold in the summer also to save on the wage bill, and in recent days he had been approached by Galatasaray as part of the Zaniolo deal.
Roma reportedly moved by contacting the player’s entourage to understand the margins of negotiations with the player and Juventus itself. Deployed 19 times in the last 6 months in the Premier League, McKennie had failed to avoid relegation to the Championship by Leeds, who waived the 34 million euros to buy him back.
McKennie is part of a list of redundancies that Juventus hopes to place as soon as possible to make cash and reinvest.
