Cosenza to Fabio Caserta. The Calabrian club announced Tuesday that it has chosen the coach for the upcoming Serie B season, won after a heart-stopping playout with Brescia. He takes the place of William Viali, who in 2022-2023 took over from Davide Dionigi from matchday 12.
“Fabio Caserta is the new coach of Cosenza Calcio,” reads the website of the Rossoblù club. “The Melito Porto Salvo-born coach, who signed an agreement until June 30, 2024 with an option for the following year, will lead the Rossoblù team starting next July 1.
“Caserta, a former midfielder, embarked on a coaching career and won promotion to Serie B in the 2018-2019 season with Juve Stabia. In the 2020-2021 season, he landed at Perugia and repeated himself by taking the biancorossi back to Serie B. The following year at the helm of Benevento, he reached the semifinals of the play-offs for promotion to Serie A. Confirmed on the bench of the Campania team, he left the scene after only six matches. Fabio Caserta will be presented to the press in the coming week,” Cosenza added in its official statement.
