Boris Becker disagrees with Jannik Sinner, who looked at the glass half full after the three-set loss to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon semifinals.
According to the former German tennis player, the Blue could have done significantly better: “I think Sinner lost the match today, more than Djokovic won,” are the words to Sky. “He actually gave a break right away, then in the third set he came to the level we expected and had two set-points on his 5-4 so he had to take advantage of those chances that Nole gave him.”
“I think between last year’s quarters and this semifinal Sinner needs to reflect on the opportunities he didn’t take,” Becker concluded.
Djokovic thus spoke about Azzurro: “In the semifinals I knew it was always going to be a very tense, very tight match. Three very close sets, I think the score maybe doesn’t render the reality of what was happening on the court. It was very close.”
