Inter 10 with honors, poker by Lautaro Martinez
Inter-Pergolettese 10-0
Lots of Inter, indeed lots of Inter. The Nerazzurri, in the second friendly of the season, won 10-0 against Pergolettese, a team that plays in Serie C. In Appiano Gentile, the Nerazzurri took the field with two different teams, one for each half. The first 45 minutes saw Simone Inzaghi’s team win 4-0. In the second half, six more goals, with a wild Lautaro, author of four goals.
The Nerazzurri’s second outing coincided with the first-minute debut of new signing Thuram, who was deployed in attack paired with Correa. Midfield with Sensi in the middle and Barella and Calhanoglu on either side. On the outsides Dumfries and Gosens. In defense at center De Vrij, left arm Bastoni and right arm Bisseck. In goal Stankovic. Inter approached the match positively, imposing its pace from the first minutes. The first to look for the opponent’s goal is Gosens, who tries twice in the first three minutes, but does not find the winning stroke. Sensi shortly afterwards looks for and finds Thuram with whom he triangulates and right-footed a shot from the edge, finding Soncin’s prompt response. In the 13th minute, Thuram’s first attempt was, however, disturbed at the finest moment after a cross from Bisseck. A few seconds pass and it is Calhanoglu with his classic attempt from the limit who tries the conclusion, but the host extreme defender blocks the ball. He can do nothing, however, in the 19th minute when Bastoni’s backheel deflects the ball from the corner serving Correa, who headers from a few steps and makes no mistake. Inter take the lead. After the goal that unlocked the match, the Nerazzurri dominated with an intense perpetual motion. Three minutes later it was Bastoni’s header to score the 2-0 goal, again on the development of a corner. In the 31st minute Calhanoglu from 25 meters found the perfect conclusion that went into the net. Before the end of the first 45 minutes Dumfries header soared into the sky and scored the 4-0 goal after a nice cross by Gosens from the left.
In the second half Inter took the field with a totally different team in every role. Lautaro at the first opportunity immediately tries to conclude, finding Soncin’s deflection. In the first 10 minutes the rhythms seem more composed, but Lautaro’s goal, skillful in taking advantage of a defensive ingenuity of the opponents, is enough to turn the tide. The Nerazzurri from that moment completely held the ball of the game, showing absolute mastery of the match and churning out several goal chances. Esposito in the 75th minute took perfect advantage of Dimarco’s cross, scoring the 6-0 goal. A minute later Lautaro repeated himself by converting a penalty kick. In the last 10 minutes of the game came the goals of Mkhitaryan and two more goals by Lautaro. The Armenian from the limit with a surgical conclusion surprises the visiting goalkeeper. Lautaro in the 87th minute deflects yet another Dimarco cross into the net with a tap-in. The Nerazzurri number 10 within seconds of the final whistle on a penalty kick fixes the result at 10-0, putting his personal poker on the scoreboard.
