Zoran Savic, new broadside to Nikola Mirotic
New broadside to Nikola Mirotic
Nikola Mirotic’s landing at Olimpia Milano was one of the most important market shots on the continental level. In the Partizan Belgrade household, the disappointment is still tangible over the non-arrival of the Montenegrin player naturalized Spanish.
Zoran Savic, former Virtus Bologna player and currently general manager of the Serbs, was explicit during an interview granted to Corriere dello Sport. “I remember a meeting with me and the president and a handshake,” he highlighted. “For me, handshakes are important. It weighed the will of the player, who perhaps could not withstand the pressure.”
Savic also spoke about his former team, “I think this Virtus is better suited for the Euroleague than the one from last season. In that competition if you don’t have a very physical approach you don’t go very far. And I see a tougher Virtus in that very aspect, more physically equipped.”
