Sofia Goggia praises Federica Brignone

The times of rivalryà, capable of reaching rather harsh tones on both sides, now seem to be definitively behind us: an aspect demonstrated further on Sunday, at the conclusion of the women’s CdM Super-G in Val d'Isere won by Federica Brignone, when in her speech to the microphones of 'Rai Sport' Sofia Goggia had nothing but words of high praise for the Valle d’Aosta woman.

"I didn’t see her race, actually – said Goggia, who started with the number 14 on her chest, six athletes after Brignone – I can però imagine that she definitely brushed Mantegna style, as she knows how to do. I congratulate her, è it was a wonderful victory. As for me, third place è a good result, I am satisfied".

Commenting then on her own performance, the Bergamasque said: "Today’s Super-G was beautiful, I però skied a little bit; dirty, a little bit; 'wild' as I like to say. As an attitude in general forò I think I compensated for this kind of skiing with my desire to attack".

For Sofia Goggia that in Val d'Isere è the third podium of the season, the second in Super-G after the victory in St. Moritz last December 8. For the other podium, however, one must go to the downhill the next day, also in St. Moritz. The goal forò è is to do well in the more technical disciplines as well: "I have been training a lot for the giant,” confirmed Goggia, “even sacrificing something in terms of speed. It's important toò raise the level in general".
