Tense nerves after Modena-Sassuolo, Domenico Berardi apologizes
A bad episode, complete with an official apology.
At home Sassuolo was received anything but well by the Coppa Italia knockout against Modena, in an all-province derby that ended 3-2. This was demonstrated by a Neroverde fan and Domenico Berardi, the protagonists of a very bitter exchange of views outside the Braglia stadium.
The episode was filmed by someone, thus quickly circulating well beyond Modena. And so the Sassuolo forward wanted to publicly apologize with a message via Instagram Stories. “I would like to apologize for what happened today on the way out of the stadium after the game against Modena. We are professionals and above all we have to be exemplars for younger people and children,” Berardi wrote.
“Today in the eyes of everyone I did not behave in such a way,” added the Sassuolo striker. “This is because the things dearest to me, such as my family, my wife and my son off the field, were touched in a gratuitous way that hurt me deeply. I also renew my apologies to the fan of the opposing team.”
