Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo sure: “Valentino Rossi was wrong.”
Former Yamaha centaur Jorge Lorenzo: “Marc Marquez didn’t want me to win the title but…”
Jorge Lorenzo in an interview with Cycle World reopened the parenthesis on the controversial 2015 World Championship, and the very harsh controversy between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez: “That year I would have easily won the MotoGp title because I was the fastest, but on race day something always happened. Like the problem with the visor, the rain on Sunday after a strong dry weekend at Silverstone. So despite the speed, it had become a difficult season.”
The Mallorcan centaur singled out the moment when, in his opinion, the season turned in his favor: a mistake by Valentino Rossi in Argentina. “Valentino was responsible for Marquez’s crash, but he did not apologize after the race. Marc didn’t like that. I think Rossi’s apology would have changed the course of things. But Marquez did not really want me to win the title; we were not friends.”
