Zaynab Dosso show, new Italian record in the 100 meters

The international meeting in Savona starts with a bang. Zaynab Dosso, in fact, under a pouring rain, signed the new Italian record in the 100 meters in the battery with a crazy 11"02, improving by twelve cents the blue record that she held together with Manuela Levorato. 

The previous record, in fact, belonged sì to the sprinter from Emilia, but in cohabitation with Levorato, who had hit it in Lausanne in July 2001, well over 20ù years ago. Now, however, the record è completely from Dosso. In short, excellent news ahead of the European Championships in Rome and the Paris Olympics.

The Italian sprinter, who had already improved the national record in the battery, stopping the stopwatch on 11"12, outdid herself in the final, imposing herself in 11"02, ahead of Luxembourg’s Patrizia Van der Weken (11"12) and Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago (11"16).

“Very happy, I was aware of that,” Zaynab Dosso told official FIDAL channels -After the indoor season I was quivering with the desire to express myself in the 100 and on debut there’were many things to put in place, but I have to say bravo to myself because it was not easy nor obvious to run like that in these conditions. Last season I was injured in warm-up in Savona, for me a bad memory, but I wanted to come back to create new memories and itè went well. I aim a lot at the European Championships with a lot of awareness, but not only that, in the year of the Olympics. Fabbri’s record?
