NBA Play-offs: Dallas wins Game 5 and snaps Finals pass
The NBA Finals will be played by Boston and Dallas
After wasting the first match-ball in front of the home crowd, Dallas prevailed in Game 5 on Minnesota’s court (124-103) and closed the series at 4-1, thus accessing the NBA Finals where it will play for the ring against Boston. Game dominated by the Mavs who, at halftime, had a lead as large as 29 points (69-40).
Extraordinary performance by the Doncic-Irving duo. The Slovenian played an almost perfect game, finishing with 36 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. In the first quarter alone, he puts up an impressive 20 points. Irving does not back down either: 36 points, 15 of them in the second quarter alone. "C'è it was Luka Magic mode. He raised the bar and then made things easier for all his teammates. Soì, others also stepped up", the words about Doncic by Kidd, coach of the Mavs, reported by ESPN.
On the other side, no one to counter the Mavs'excellent night. Edwards and Towns woke up when the game è already decided. The former finished with 29 points and nine rebounds. The second, decisive in Game 4, goes for a double-double (28 points and 12 rebounds) but with a not-excellent 9/20 from the field.
Dallas returns to the finals 13 years after the last time when it won the NBA title thanks to All Star Nowitkzi. Now, standing between Dallas and the ring are the Boston Celtics. A final that promises spectacle. Note that for Doncic this is his first NBA Finals appearance after six years of militancy in Dallas: "It's a good feeling", his comment.
