Cagliari, the road for the super bomber gets more complicated
Massimo Coda is the number one target for the new Rossoblu attack.
Fresh from his promotion to Serie A – embellished by the title of MVP of the cadetteria, as well as the league’s top scorer for the second year in a row – Massimo Coda is one of the prized pieces of the summer soccer market. The 33-year-old from Campania is coveted by a whole host of clubs ranging from the newly promoted in the Serie A to those who want to make a quick return to the top flight next year.
Cagliari’s ds Stefano Capozzucca has reportedly already reached an agreement with Lecce – the owner of the bomber’s card – on the basis of 3 million euros. The gocatore himself would not disdain the Sardinian destination, but here two other orders of factors come into play: On the one hand there are in fact the suffocating pressure of the ambitious Modena, which has been courting the striker for some time, and that of Genoa, which is preparing to say goodbye to Mattia Destro, whose contract is expiring. On the other is the temptation of the player to stay in Salento to taste Serie A again after brief appearances with the shirts of Parma and Benevento.
