Ferrari, Charles Leclerc in free fall: nothing works

After the victory in the home GP only trouble

On May 26, Leclerc triumphed at his home Monte Carlo. A long-awaited victory, the best of his career. It ended a nearly two-year abstinence (July 10, 2022, Austrian GP) and, above all, the certainty that he can, at last, fight for something important, with a competitive Ferrari.

Unfortunately, since that wonderful Sunday in late May, Leclerc è ended up in a tunnel without light. In the next four GPs, the Monegasque had to reckon with one retirement (GP of Canada), one fifth place and two placings beyond the tenth position, thus out of the points. A real debacle for Ferrari’s top driver.

When è happened at Silverstone has some comic. Not a fair choice, resulting in a horrendous 14° place finish. One has to go back to 2021 (16° place at the French Grand Prix) for a Leclerc soì back at the finish. A real humiliation, also becauseè everyone else, including Sainz, is doing great. Even Hamilton, his teammate starting next season, is having a magical time.

Leclerc seems bewildered and, from a certain point of view, also drained. He keeps collecting weekends to forget. Luck is certainly not è on his side but there's also a Ferrari that fails to bring out his qualities. In the overall standings, he now è third (150 points), behind Verstappen and Norris, with Sainz just four points behind. After Monte Carlo, it seemed all downhill, instead…
