The pleasant and relaxing vacations on the Emerald Coast are already over for Jannik Sinner. After being eliminated in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, the young man from Sesto Pusteria is now focusing on the Summer Olympics. Sinner, 22, has always stressed the importance of hard work to achieve great results. After a few days of rest at the beach with girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya, he è returned to training in Monte Carlo.
The world number 1 è is aware of his good chances of winning a medal at the Games and is preparing on the Principality’s clay courts, similar to those at Roland Garros. Here, he will try to bring Italy back to the Olympic podium, a goal that has been missing for a hundred years, since Uberto de Morpurgo’s bronze medal.
Also training with Sinner is Japan's Kei Nishikori, both determined to adapt to the Olympic terrain before departing for Paris on July 23. The draw for the scoreboard will take place on the same day and the competitions will officially begin on July 27. The men’s tournament final è scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 4.
In the previous edition of the Olympic Games, held in Tokyo in the summer of three years ago, Germany's Alexander Zverev won the men's singles tournament by defeating Karen Khachanov in the final (bronze for Pablo Carreño Busta), while Belinda Bencic won the women's gold by defeating Marketa Vondrousova (bronze for Elina Svitolina).
