Novak Djokovic-Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 7-6

Novak Djokovic continues to write world tennis history. The Serbian champion, in fact, won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, overcoming Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, world number three, in the final at the end of a truly spectacular match. 7-6 7-6 the final score accrued in favor of Nole after nearly three hours of battle.

With this success Djokovic thus obtains the coveted Olympic gold in his fifth participation in the Games. The Serbian adds to his rich palmares the only title he still lacked and thus becomes the fifth player in history to complete the Career Golden Slam (winning all four Slam titles plus Olympic gold), joining the likes of Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi.

Very high level from the first bars with Alcaraz forced to cancel a break ball in the first service round and to save himself from 0-40 in the fourth game. In the next game è Djokovic having to erase three break points, but the turning point è in the ninth game: Nole saves five more break points to the Spaniard and goes on to take the first partial at the tie-break, won 7-3.

In the second partial, both players concede crumbs on serve: the Serb has the only chance in the third game, but the Spaniard saves. It comes again to the tie-break and to make the difference è again Djokovic, who dominates it 7-2 raising his arms to the sky for yet another feat of his career.
