F1, Lewis Hamilton takes the stage at Monza
Lewis Hamilton sets the best time of the second free practice
Friday at the Monza circuit closes in the sign of Lewis Hamilton: the veteran of the Circus, who next year will drive Ferrari, showed the many fans of the Redhead who flocked to the stands of the Brianza circuit what he is still capable of, setting a time of 1:20.738 the best performance of Free Practice 2.
The seven-time world champion was just 3 thousandths of a second ahead of Lando Norris (McLaren), and 103 thousandths ahead of the first of the two Ferraris, that of Carlos Sainz. Fourth time for the other McLaren, that of Oscar Piastri (+0.120), fifth the other Ferrarista, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (+0.154).
Rather hidden are the two Red Bulls: Max Verstappen è only 14th at the end of FP2, with a personal best time more than eight tenths higher than Hamilton. Just behind him is his teammate, Mexico's Sergio Perez, who is close to a second behind the session leader.
