Great women’s volleyball lands in Courmayeur

I next September 20 and 21, Courmayeur will become the stage for Italian women’s volleyball, hosting the prestigious Courmayeur Cup. This exceptional quadrangular, organized by Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile and Master Group Sport, will be the prelude to the Tigotà 2024-25 Serie A1 Championship. The top four finishers of the last championship, Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano, Savino Del Bene Scandicci, Vero Volley Milano and Igor Gorgonzola Novara, will be the absolute protagonists, having already put on a show both in Italy and in Europe.

 The’event will be held at the Courmayeur Sport Center, a multi-sport facility that demonstrates that Courmayeur, at an altitude of 1,200 meters, is perfectly equipped to host major sporting events. This center, modern and functional, è is the beating heart of a high-level sports offer and the Courmayeur Cup will represent the perfect opportunity to experience the thrill of a match played by the best Italian women’s volleyball teams within a unique natural setting, where the beauty of the mountains blends harmoniously with excellent infrastructures.

 The new championship, with the start set for the weekend of Oct. 5-6, kicks off after a year of triumphs by women’s volleyball, culminating with the club’s three successes in European competitions and the historic win of gold at the Paris Olympic Games. This triumph has further strengthened Italy&#39s position in the volleyball scene and Courmayeur is preparing to be the stage for the start of a new sports season full of expectations.

Protagonists of the two days will be some of the world’s greatest volleyball players, including Paola Egonu, Myriam Sylla, Gabi, Sarah Fahr, Maja Ognjenovic, Ekaterina Antropova, Mayu Ishikawa and Maja Aleksić, ready to do battle in four matches, scheduled at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on both days.
