Louis Vuitton Cup Final, Luna Rossa set for battle with Ineos
These were the words of Francesco Bruni, helmsman of Luna Russa, at the press conference on the eve of the Louis Vuitton Cup final that kicks off tomorrow and in which the Italian embarkation takes on Ineos Britannia in the series that will decree Team New Zealand’s challenger in the 37ª America's Cup.
"We all know that in Italy the America's Cup è a dream. We have been chasing this dream for many years, even before I was born. Now we have a chance; and we must take advantage of this opportunity”.
In the press conference Luna Rossa’s other helmsman, Jimmy Spithill, emphasized how pressure is "a motivating factor for the whole team. There are more Italian fans than in any other sailing competition. So we try to use that as a competitive advantage. We know how special a win".
Great is the anticipation also at home in Ineos Britannia. For helmsman Ben Ainslie " the Louis Vuitton Cup has a great history in the America's Cup, and we all know that as a challenger, if you want to make it to the America's Cup, the first thing you have to do è bring home this trophy, and that's what we are fighting for. È it's a great opportunity for both of our teams, and we're very excited about what's ahead".
