Moto3, David Alonso rings the ninth at Mandalika
The Colombian è one step away from Mir’s historic record
Also in Mandalika, home of the Indonesia GP, Alonso confirmed that he is the best in the entire Moto3. The Colombian crossed the finish line first, thus taking his ninth win of the season. In fact, he è just one win away from Mir’s historic record of wins, in a single season, (10 GPs won in 2017).
At the end of a rather entertaining race, with an exciting finish,, Alonso won the GP, ahead of Fernandez on Honda and Munoz on KTM. Lunetta, after fondling the possibility of winning the race, è had to settle for fifth place. Veijer’s fall at 12°, when he was leading the race, should be noted.
At the end of the match, Alonso, beaming with yet another victory, said: "I only had as an objective to score points. I had problems after the bad crash on Friday. I was not very fast, I was thinking of settling but I wanted to give a good race to the fans and so I gave everything", the words of the almost World Champion.
With a 97-point lead over Holgado (sixth at the finish in Mandalika), Alonso will be able to graduate, mathematically, as Moto3 World Champion already in Motegi, site of the next GP. He will only need four points to get the party started.
