Toprak Razgatlioglu wins his second Sbk world title

After two consecutive seasons in which Ducati won both the MotoGp and Superbike World Championships, the Borgo Panigale factory will have to"settle" for this year" for the title in the prototype premier class (contested by Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia): in Superbike, in fact, è arrived the arithmetic certainty of winning the title for Toprak Razgatlioglu, after the latter's victory in race-1 of the last Round of the season, in Jerez de la Frontera, riding his BMW.

The Turk succeeds, in the roll of honor of the World Series Derivatives Championship to Alvaro Bautista, winner for two consecutive years, and repeats the 2021 title, won on that occasion riding a Yamaha. In Jerez, Razgatlioglu è came in behind Nicolò Bulega, winner of race-1 after starting from pole position, but that è was enough to make the Superpole Race and race-2 effectively irrelevant for the title fight.

Rounding out the podium in Saturday’s race was a Yamaha, that of Andrea Locatelli. On the Andalusian circuit, independent riders struggled moderately: Andrea Iannone è the best placed, on the Team GoEleven Ducati, but he finished 12th. A sad handover for Bautista: the Spaniard è crashed twice, still managing to reach the finish line in 23rd position.

Razgatlioglu therefore wins his second Sbk World Championship after the one in 2021: previously, the Turk had won the European Superstock 600 title in 2015 and before that, in 2012, he won the Turkish Road Race 600 class championship.
