Max Verstappen, it’s raining in the wet: more penalty

Max Verstappen’s lead over Lando Norris is thinning with four races left in the championship, and the Dutch driver has to deal with the problems of his RB20. The three-time world champion has not won a Grand Prix since June, a full 10 races, but he can still enjoy a 47-point lead over McLaren driver Lando Norris, the only one who can concretely hope to catch up.

After his sixth-place finish in Mexico and the 20-second penalty imposed in the race for his duel with the Briton, Verstappen is likely to face another penalty in Brazil: several engine failures during free practice are prompting Red Bull to change the power unit ahead of the Interlagos race, scheduled for next weekend.

The intervention will result in an inevitable grid penalty: Verstappen will be relegated five positions in Sunday’s race. "The penaltyà would be five positions and would not be that serious given that in Brazil you canò overtake with relative ease. We saw that in the straights we were losing three to eight kilometers per hour&quot, explained Helmut Marko to Orf.

Verstappen has already replaced a power unit before the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, where instead by regulation he was penalized ten positions.
