The day after the tragic death of Matilde Lorenzi, the Italian Winter Sports Federation continues its mourning in the utmost silence and respect for the family’s immense grief. President Flavio Roda, with numerous athletes, technicians, managers and staff are preparing to attend the funeral of the young athlete from Piedmont and say goodbye for the’last time.
The large federal delegation will bring its insignia to the funeral, which testifies to Matilde’s membership in the great family of winter sports.
The funeral will be held in the parish of Santo Stefano in Giaveno, in the province of Turin, on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m.
The family expressed the wish that no flowers be brought to the ceremony, but that the money be donated to the track safety project dedicated to the missing 19-year-old athlete.
