Gabriel Bortoleto new Sauber driver for 2025
Sauber has made official the arrival of Gabriel Bortoleto as driver for the 2025 season. The 20-year-old Brazilian, current leader of the F2 championship, will join German Nico Hulkenberg at the wheel of the two single-seaters that will become Audi from next season. This was announced by the same stable that said goodbye and thanks to drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu with whom "we decided together that there are no longerù the conditions to continue".
“I am thrilled to become part of one of the most exciting projects in motorsport,” said Bortoleto. “To debut in F1 with a team that combines the sporting history and engineering expertise of Sauber and Audi è is a real honor. My goal è to grow by contributing to this ambitious project until I reach the’pinnacle of motorsport".
Originally from São Paulo, Bortoleto è made his mark in 2023 by dominating the FIA Formula 3 Championship on his debut. He currently è leads the FIA Formula 2 Championship standings. The young Brazilian’s career è began at6years old in karting and at 12 years old he è moved to Europe with his family to pursue his dream of driving a Formula 1 car. Joining the future Audi F1 team offers Bortoleto the opportunity to prove his talent at the highest level of motorsport.
