Novak Djokovic, message finally arrives to Roger Federer
Novak Djokovic took a day longer than his peers to pay tribute to Roger Federer
Novak Djokovic also paid tribute to great rival Roger Federer, who announced his retirement from professional tennis in recent days. Nole took 24 hours longer than his other colleagues to gather his thoughts and express all his respect for the Swiss star with a message on Instagram.
“Roger, it is hard to live this day and it is complicated to put into words all that we shared in tennis. Over a decade of incredible moments and battles to look back on. Your career has shown what it means to achieve excellence and to lead with integrity and poise. It has been an honor to know you, on and off the court. I look forward to celebrating your achievements and seeing you in London.” The Laver Cup will be Federer’s last competition, scheduled for Sept. 23-25 in London.
