Anna Kalinskaya: crisis interrupted at home?

Key days are approaching for Anna Kalinskaya, who will soon know her opponent in the first round of the Miami Open, a WTA 1000 tournament starting in Florida. The event takes place just a few miles from the home of the Russian, who is called upon to react after a truly forgettable start to 2025. The draw è scheduled in a few hours in the United States.

The Moscow tennis player must break the technical and physical crisis that has been gripping her for some time now and from which she cannot find a solution. After disappointments in Australia and the Middle East, Jannik Sinner’s fiancée didn’t è find herself in Indian Wells either, where she è was too easily defeated by Alycia Parks, the number 60 always defeated in the past.

Kalinskaya hopes the home air will do her good and she can finally interrupt this difficult period that has seen her sink to 33rd place in the WTA rankings.

After briefly being last season the number one Russian tennis player, now Kalinskaya è plummeted to sixth place, behind Andreeva, Kasatkina, Shnaider, Alexandrova, Samsonova.
