ATP Monaco, double tie-breaker win for Luciano Darderi

Luciano Darderi restarts with a success at the ATP 500 in Munich. After the triumph in Marrakech, the Italian also starts off on the right foot his adventure at the ‘BMW Open by Bitpanda’ defeating the lucky loser Christopher O’Connell, world number 87, in his debut.
7-6 7-6 the score accrued in favor of the Italian tennis player after almost two hours of play. In the first set it was his serve that dominated, with Darderi conceding only 3 break points, but all erased. At the tie-break, down 3-2, the Italian strung together a partial five points in a row with which he won the first partial.
Same script in the second set in which this time it was the Australian who erased the only two break points of the partial. At the tie-break it was again the blue player who made the difference, winning five of the last six points.
Thanks to this victory Darderi thus flies to the round of 16 of the Bavarian tournament where he will face Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic, number 48 in the ATP ranking.
