Novak Djokovic still won’t retire

During an’interview given to the microphones of the American magazine “Business Traveler”, Novak Djokovic, among other topics, wanted to respond in kind to recent rumors related to his imminent retirement from playing tennis.
“In the last few weeks it has been difficult for me to hit the results I used to get when I was at the top of my game. That doesn’t mean I can’t do it anymore, but that greatness changes shape and that’s because you’re a different person every year. Tennis is a sport in which you have to cultivate the mentality of “it is never enough” because when you stop believing in that aspect, then you have to put the racket away and I feel that that moment has not yet arrived for me” began the Serbian tennis player.
“Tennis has absorbed a large part of my life from a very young age. I have invested all my mental, physical and emotional energy and it has really rewarded me. When you reach the highest levels of professional sports, you are instilled with certain things that are essential foundations for business or whatever you do in life. The’importance of discipline and daily routine is underestimated. Discipline, commitment dedication, but also innovation. Adaptability is a unique and very rare quality” added the’former world number one.
“I love a phrase I heard a few years ago. Your worst opponent is always the person you were yesterday. Try to be the best version of yourself. It’s kind of my motto. You have to keep an open mind, be curious, surround yourself with the right people and take nothing for granted. Over the course of my career, I have refused to participate in different activities because they did not represent something I believed in or were in line with my values” Novak Djokovic closed.
