Italbasket toward European Championships, Trentino Cup dates set

Ahead of Eurobasket 2025, the continental review that will begin next August 27 and will see the group stage take place between Latvia, Cyprus, Finland and Poland, the Italian Basketball Federation has made official the dates of the Italian national team’s training camp led by Gianmarco Pozzecco, a training period at the end of which the Trentino Basket Cup will be held, a classic event that the Azzurri use to prepare for major events.

The national team staff and the summoned basketball players will be back in Folgaria from July 23 to 31 for the training camp, while the first friendly, against ’Iceland, will be staged at the “Il T Quotidiano Arena” in Trento on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m. The match will be preceded by the one between Senegal and Poland, which will start instead at 5:30 p.m.

The second and final day of the 2025 edition of the Trentino Basket Cup will instead take place on Sunday, Aug. 3: one of Poland and Senegal will face Iceland at 4:30 p.m., while the other will play at 7 p.m. against Italy, in the match that will close the two-day event in Trentino, just under a month before the start of the European Championships.
