Brescia in Trent to defend the summit

After finishing the first round of the 2023/24 basketball Serie A in first place along with Reyer Venezia, Germani Brescia also started the second round on the right foot, beating Treviso at home with a clear +21 final: on Saturday, however, awaiting the Lombard team is Dolomiti Energia Trentino, the team against which the biancazzurri lost in the first round.

Ahead of the trip to Trent, Germani coach Alessandro Magro spurred his players by speaking to the club’s official channels: "Historically è an opponent that we can hardly overcome – admitted the coach of the Brescia club – and è it happened both when I was here as Diana’s assistant coach and with me as head coach. It is no coincidence è the only team that è managed to beat us at home in the first round. They certainly had a very good first round, and they are a very well-coached team that has a clear identity.

"It's a season where we are keeping an important pace, we have already dispelled the tabù of Pistoia, and it would be nice given, the 6-1 record for them, to be able to go there and bring home the two points,” Magro added later. These two points, in fact, despite the fact that there are many games to go before the end of the second half of the season, would be useful to take a small step forward and try to put even more space between us and those who will be the pursuers for the best possible position in the standings in the playoff".

The Lombardi coach also talked about individuals: "On John Petrucelli the hope è that he will play already tomorrow,” he said. “We will know tomorrow morning if John will be able to give us minutes. If so, we can move Massinburg in the 3, or this Burnell or even give minutes to Nicola from 3. It's a gap we can fill with different characteristics and talents”.
