F1 Ferrari, Jean Todt stings Mattia Binotto
Former Ferrari team principal: “If you make the same mistakes often then it means there is something to change”
Former Fia president and former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt at the Trento Sports Festival dwelt on the Maranello team’s moment: “A great car has been made this season, that means the team is working. Something is still missing, to win you need excellence, in all respects. And when excellence is lacking it is important to understand where the error comes from. If the same mistakes are often made then it means there is something to change. Ferrari at one point in the year had the best car, but missed too many opportunities, because of different problems like safety car, strategy or reliability.”
“Every era is different, I cannot give any advice to Binotto,” Jean Todt continued, “because it is very easy to talk without knowing the situation. Ferrari is doing well, people may not realize the very high level of competitiveness that the World Championship offers. Everyone or almost everyone would like Ferrari to win championships again, it has been since 2007 that the drivers’ title has been missing. I know there is a lot of anticipation among the Ferrari people, but the ultimate goal is very close.”
