Elise Mertens wins at 's-Hertogenbosch

Second title of the season after Singapore for Elise Mertens in the “Libema Open” which ended on the Dutch lawns of s’-Hertogenbosch and opened the season on the grass of the women’s major circuit.
In a final characterized by a lot of wind, the 29-year-old from Luven, won 6-3 7-6(4), after almost two hours of struggle, over Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, number 80 WTA.
For Mertens, who yesterday had nullified 11 match-points against Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova, this is the tenth WTA trophy won in her career out of 16 finals played, the first on grass.
