Milan, Rafael Leao sends a firm message

Rafael Leao has no intention of leaving AC Milan: that is what transpires from the Portuguese footballer’s statements to the French magazine ‘L’Officiel’ which sound like a real declaration of love towards the club that picked him up from Lille, in the summer of 2019, in exchange for 30 million euros.
Although rumors of a farewell (with Bayern Munich as the most likely destination) have resonated persistently in recent weeks, Leao’s words are clear: “I followed Milan even before moving to Italy. It is one of the most important clubs in the world and to wear the Rossoneri jersey is a dream” said the 26-year-old native of Almada.
Just at AC Milan, Leao met one of his two absolute references, as he said during the interview: “There are two footballers that I consider the best I have ever played with – he said. One is Cristiano Ronaldo, the other is Zlatan Ibrahimovic“. Leao is CR7’s national teammate and with Ibra won the 2021-2022 Scudetto with the Rossoneri.
A class of 1999, Rafael Leao grew up footballingly at Sporting Lisbon, a club with which he made his senior debut, winning a League Cup in 2018. At AC Milan since 2019, he won the Scudetto in 2022 and the Italian Super Cup in early 2025. In the national team, he won an U17 European Championship in 2016 and the 2024-2025 Nations League, won last June 8 on penalties against Spain.
