Women’s Italbasket in history, semifinals at the'European after 30 years

Women’s basketball Italy is back in the top four of the European Championship. A dream come true 30 years after the Brno Silver. Beating Turkey today in Piraeus (76-74 dts), the Women’s National Team qualified for the semifinals of the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2025 and will return to the court on Friday to take on the winner of Germany-Belgium.

An extraordinary result, for the Azzurre, who with today’s success have also secured access to the pre-World Cup tournament that will be played in March 2026 and qualify for the World Cup (Germany, September 4-13, 2026).

In the other quarterfinal France beat Lithuania 83-61, tomorrow the quarterfinal schedule is completed with Spain-Czechia and Belgium-Germany.

Today the best Azzurri scorer was Lorela Cubaj with 16 points, also in double figures Cecilia Zandalasini with 14 points, Jasmine Keys and Costanza Verona both with 12 points.
