Diogo Jota has died: Portugal and Liverpool’s grief. All the reactions

Liverpool is distraught over the tragic death of its player Diogo Jota in a car accident. The 28-year-old striker had just married and had three children. “The club was informed that the 28-year-old died following a car accident in Spain, along with his brother André”.
“Liverpool Football Club is shocked by the tragic death of Diogo Jota”, the Reds note continued. “Liverpool FC will make no further statements at this time and asks that the privacy of the family, friends, teammates and staff of Diogo and Andre be respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss. We will continue to provide them with our full support”.
The message from Porto, Jota’s former club: “Porto Football Club is in mourning. It is with deep regret that we send our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, also our athlete in the youth categories. Rest in peace”.
The Portuguese Federation is also in mourning; Jota played 49 games with his country’s national team, winning two Nations Leagues. “It is with deep regret and immense sorrow that the FPF learned this morning of the tragic accident that caused the death of Diogo Jota and his brother in Zamora, Spain. At this moment, we have no words or adjectives to describe or quantify a loss highlighted by the words of FPF President Dr. Pedro Proença”.
