Theo Hernandez, controversial farewell to AC Milan

Theo Hernandez said goodbye to AC Milan through a long post published on his Instagram profile. “After six years at this club, the time has come to say goodbye. I arrived at AC Milan in 2019 with dreams, desire and enthusiasm to wear a jersey rich in history. Today I am leaving after experiencing unforgettable moments, such as winning Serie A and the Italian Super Cup, and especially after sharing the locker room with extraordinary people”.

The Frenchman, a new player for Al Hilal’Al Hilal, thanked one person in particular: “Many thanks to my teammates, to every coach who believed in me, and especially to Paolo Maldini, for his closeness, vision and leadership. And thanks to the Rossoneri fans, who have always been there, in the good times and in the difficult ones. To feel your support was a privilege that I will never forget and will forever carry in my heart”.

So he did not send them back to the Rossoneri club: “My decision to leave was not easy. I always knew where I wanted to be, and Milan has always been my priority. But, unfortunately, not everything depends on one person. The direction the club has taken and some recent decisions do not reflect the values or ambition that brought me here. It is time to close one chapter and start another, different, but equally important to me”.

“I leave with my head held high, because I have always given everything for this club, committing myself to the utmost and sharing the same dreams as this fan base. I leave with a full heart, and with the hope that very soon Milan will return to the place it deserves. Milan will always be a part of me. Forza Milan Sempre” concluded Theo.
