It was in the air, now it is official: Silvio Baldini is the new Italy Under-21 coach.
“L’azzurro represents great pride for me,” commented the coach, who recently authored a lengthy rant on the situation of soccer in Italy.
“We have chosen a man of value and worth,” federcalcio president Gabriele Gravina told ANSA.
Between 2002 and 2008 Baldini, 66, coached in Serie A Empoli (which he brought from Serie B to the top league), Parma, Lecce and Catania.
