Jannik Sinner continues to dominate the ATP rankings. Despite the decision not to play in Toronto, the’Italian is firmly at the top of the rankings with an impressive 12,030 points, 3,430 points ahead of his number one rival, namely Carlos Alcaraz (beaten in the Wimbledon final).

The Spaniard, as well as Jannik Sinner, decided to skip the Canadian Open, in Toronto. In fact, a’wasted opportunity to get closer to the blue. For his part, the South Tyrolean has now reached 59 weeks as world No. 1. He currently has a legend like Stefan Edberg in his sights. The Swede, with 72 weeks, is ranked 11th overall on the all-time list for number of weeks at the top of the ATP ranking.

If he continues at this pace and, more importantly, if Carlos Alcaraz does not take advantage of any more opportunities between now and the end of the current season, the Italian could even surpass legend Stefan Edberg.

Jannik Sinner but not only. So many Italians in the Top 50. Lorenzo Musetti holds out in the Top 10 (he is also sixth in the Race to the Nitto ATP Finals). Flavio Cobolli enjoys his best ranking (18th overall). Luciano Darderi celebrates who, thanks to his success in the Bastad tournament, enters the Top 50 (he is now 45th). In short, Italy is doing great and not only thanks to world number 1 Jannik Sinner.
