Napoli, debut to forget for Kevin De Bruyne: defeat with'Arezzo
A debut to forget for Italy’s champion Napoli, resoundingly defeated 2-0 in Dimaro by Arezzo. Kevin De Bruyne (on the field from the first minute), Beukema, Lang and Lucca wore the Azzurri jersey for the first time but in the end could not celebrate.
The Tuscans took the lead thanks to a penalty kick converted by Pattarello in the 38th minute and awarded for a foul committed by Lang himself.
In the second half, Lukaku and Neres (post) wasted the best chances to even the score, and in the 90th minute Varela sealed the score by signing the doubling goal.
Leonardo Spinazzola did not hide his disappointment at the triple whistle: “The result is not what we wanted: it’s a friendly, but we could have done much better. Obviously it is six days of training camp in which we worked a lot, they were further ahead in preparation and it showed”.
