Star out of Bayern Munich, Roma sniffs out deal
Among Roma’s market priorities is the purchase of a new, experienced and high-quality midfielder. Gian Piero Gasperini is not satisfied with Neil El Aynaoui, who arrived from Lens for 23.5 million euros, and wants another signing.
In the last few hours, the João Palhinha hypothesis, outgoing from Bayern Munich, has popped up. The Bavarians spent 51 million euros last summer to sign him from Fulham but the star player has struggled to settle in Germany.
Compounded by a few too many injuries, Palhinha failed to convince Vincent Kompany and was put on the market. To date there’s been a few enquiries from some Premier League clubs but no one has yet made an official offer.
The Palhinha-Roma deal is not the easiest but things could change if Bayern Munich opens up to the hypothesis of a loan with redemption option.
