When Matteo Arnaldi plays in Toronto: background with Tristan Schoolkate

After being eliminated in the round of 16 at the Washington ATP 500 at the hands of Taylor Fritz, Matteo Arnaldi is ready to return to the court at the Toronto Masters 1000. The Ligurian, the last seed in the seeding, will debut with qualifier Tristan Schoolkate, world number 103.
The match between l’Azzurro and the Australian will close the Tuesday, July 29 schedule on court number 4. It starts at 6:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. local time) with Alexandre Muller against Miomir Kecmanovic, then it will be Tallon Griekspoor’s turn against Tomas Martin Etcheverry. Next will be the turn of Nuno Borges with Facundo Bagnis, before Arnaldi-Schoolkate.
There is no precedent between Arnaldi and Schoolkate: the Sanremese player starts with the odds but will have to watch out for the Australian who surprisingly eliminated Joao Fonseca (7-6 6-4) in the first round.
Schoolkate, who has played mostly Challenger tournaments throughout the season, has already faced another Azzurro at the ATP level this year: it was Jannik Sinner, who eliminated him in four sets in the second round of the Australian Open.
