Colonel and Paralympic champion Carlo Calcagni presents his new book in Lecce

Appointment in Lecce with Carlo Calcagni on Friday, Aug. 1, at 8 p.m.: the Colonel of the Role of Honor of the Italian Army, a victim of duty, wounded and maimed for service, and today also a Paralympic champion capable of making world-records in industrial quantities, has written a conscience-shaking book entitled “Never Surrender” published by Solari.
Calcagni will present it at the Ex Convitto Palmieri. His is a dramatic but extraordinarily luminous story and is a hymn to life put down on paper by a person who has never given up and will never give up.
Calcagni will present the book at the Ex Conitto Palmieri.
During a peacekeeping mission in the Balkans, in Bosnia, while performing the noblest of community service, saving lives, the serviceman suffered massive contamination from depleted uranium and heavy metals, which has forced him to live with chronic pain, invasive therapies, transplants and unappealing diagnoses for more than two decades.
