Grigor Dimitrov for the first time in 14 years will be forced to skip a Grand Slam tournament: his manager announced to the TennisKafe portal that the Bulgarian tennis player must raise the white flag and skip the 2025 Us Open, thus breaking a record-breaking streak that lasted 58 Slams and since 2011.

Fatal for Dimitrov the right pectoral injury sustained in the Wimbledon match against Jannik Sinner, when, ahead two sets to zero, he was forced to forfeit allowing the Blue to pass the round and then win the tournament.

To no avail was the surgery that followed immediately after the knockout: Dimitrov will not be able to recover in time for the New York event and will thus have to break the record-breaking streak that lasted since the 2011 Australian Open.
