After a fine win in the opener with Borna Coric, Matteo Gigante wants to continue to impress in the Toronto Masters 1000. The Roman tennis player, in the draw thanks to a wildcard, will take on Gabriel Diallo, the 27th seed in the seeding, in the second round.
The match between l’Azzurro and the Canadian is set for Wednesday, July 30 as the second match on center court. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Italian time (12:30 p.m. local) with Ben Shelton–Adrian Mannarino, then it will be Giant and Diallo’s turn.
There is no precedent at the ATP level between Gigante and Diallo. However, the two players, have played each other in the second round of the Wimbledon qualifiers in 2023 when the Roman won and in the quarterfinals of the Canberra Challenger in 2024 in which the Canadian won.
