Veronika Kudermetova unnerved over missed dinner with Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner has won the Wimbledon 2025 tournament, but so did Veronika Kudermetova in the women’s doubles final (where she paired with Elise Mertens). The South Tyrolean champion and his Russian colleague were thus both invited to the gala dinner organized in London and open to the different tournament triumphants. Something, however, does not seem to have gone right.

Supporting this is at least Kudermetova herself, who recounted in an’interview with Elena Vesnina posted on YouTube channel ‘BB Tennis’ how the post-Wimbledon London party went. Explaining some aspects of it that she just didn&#8217t like, starting with the failure to meet with the fresh winner Sinner.

“The dinner consisted of three courses, but after the first one it was really a long time before the next ones arrived – recounted Kudermetova, who attended the gala with her husband Sergei -. But I had the feeling that the whole thing was a bit’ disorganized. I was amazed, the fact is that after the first one we waited a little bit’. But then we left”. Not irrelevant detail: when this happened, Sinner had not yet arrived.

Kudermetova specified it again, stating: “Jannik Sinner was very late. At least we didn&#8217t see him when we left, Iga Swiatek on the other hand had just arrived. We finally decided not to wait for him and left. But honestly I was quite amazed at how things turned out. In fact, to be honest I even got a little bit’angry”.
